WELCOME TO MOSELEY MEADOWS

The road names of Cromwell Road and Cavalier Circus have a historic connection with the English Civil War. In 1651 King Charles II made a last attempt to regain the throne at the battle of Worcester in 1651. The King’s Army was defeated by the Parliamentarian Army led by Oliver Cromwell and the King was on the run. Five days later, cold and wet the King arrived at the nearby Old Moseley Hall and was given shelter until he could plan his escape.
